These terms and conditions are the basis upon which I do business. I agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, and by accepting lessons with me you also agree with these terms and conditions. I reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.

DATA PROTECTION
I do not hold your personal details on a computer.

COURTESY
I will be courteous and polite.
I will make reasonable endeavours to be on time for your driving lessons.
The car will be well maintained, clean and tidy, and is fitted with dual controls.
The car is fully insured for driving instruction and your test.
You will get my full attention during your driving lesson and I will not interrupt your lesson or distract you by answering my mobile phone. I expect the same consideration from you.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO DRIVE
You must hold a current, valid Driving Licence (Provisional or Full), which I will ask to see at the start of your first lesson. You must also comply with the regulations for eyesight which are that you can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) with glasses/contact lenses if normally worn.

PAYMENTS
Payment can be by cash, cheque (made out to S P Byrch) At my discretion you may be permitted one lesson's credit. However, all monies owing from a previous lesson must be settled at the beginning of the next lesson.
Any monies owing on the day of the driving test MUST be settled before the test starts or I will withdraw the use of the car for the test and I will not be held responsible for the loss of your test fee. There are no exceptions to this.

CANCELLATIONS & PUNCTUALITY

Please give as much notice as possible if you plan to cancel a driving lesson so that I can offer the slot to someone else. I try not charge for short notice cancellations. I may need to re-schedule your lesson in the event of breakdowns and illness, or if another pupil books a test that coincides with your lesson. I reserve the right to discontinue your training with me for any reason.
I will wait 15 minutes after the scheduled start of the lesson before leaving. I reserve the right to charge half of the lesson fee for the lost lesson, If it happens more than once in 2 month period.

THE PRACTICAL TEST

I do not normally book your driving tests. The DSA system will prevent pupils from double booking me for practical tests if you provide them my ADI number at the time of booking. My ADI number is 303607. However if you wish me to book the test for you, full payment must be made prior to the booking.
If you book a driving test against my advice and if I consider your driving "dangerous" then in the interests of road safety I will refuse the use of my car for the test. I will not be held responsible for any monies lost by this.
I will use reasonable endeavours to ensure my car is roadworthy on the day of the test. I will check all bulbs are operational, tyres are legal, the washer is filled and there is sufficient fuel and oil on the day of the test. However, bulbs on cars can fail. I will not be held responsible for the cancellation of a test due to subsequent failure of any lights during any test.

BEING ACCOMPANIED IN THE CAR

You will not normally be accompanied whilst you are on a lesson but there are circumstances where you might be:-
• A parent, friend or relative may accompany you during a driving lesson to see your progress and proficiency.
• A DSA Supervising Examiner may accompany us to check the standard of my tuition. I will ask your permission well in advance of the lesson taking place.
• Your test examiner may be supervised by his superior. The supervisor will be observing the examiner, not you and the supervisor plays no part in your test result. You will be advised of this at the start of your test and you cannot refuse the supervisor accompanying you.
• I will not accompany you on test unless you request it.
